AREAS OF EXPERTISE

THERAPY APPROACH
Her training over the years has included training and supervision from John and Julie Gottman, Emotionally-Focused Therapy and Gestalt Family Therapy. Connie draws from a wide background, incorporating diverse approaches as appropriate. When working with couples, she draws primarily from the Gottman Method and Emotionally-Focused therapy. She is also trained in EMDREye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing.
Connie finds that different issues and temperaments often call for very different ways of working. Early in the work, the goals and intention of the therapy will be identified. She then sees her job as facilitating her clients in accessing new strenths, learning new skills and gaining new insights, which will move them in the direction of their goals and their dreams.
